an approach to electrochromic layers
due to their lacking availability and their apparent shortcomings electrochromic windows have become the notorious vaporware building elements of so-called "intelligent housing" for at least a decade.
whatever may be the reason for this, much can be learned from computer display technology. but even in this field, except for lcd's, new and innovative concepts never entered the market.
fortunately, computer displays and windows are subjected to different constraints and there might be a chance to adopt an abandoned concept from the computer world for low-tech, low-resolution window technology.



 the following pages show some examples of known technical solutions. this is only the early stage of a project to come and will provide some background knowledge for evaluation.
